Sony, Universal, and Warner Music have sued AI companies Suno and Udio for alleged copyright infringement, claiming they used their recordings without permission to train music generation AI systems. The lawsuit alleges that the AI-generated music competes with human artists' works, devaluing them. Suno CEO Mikey Shulman defends their technology as creating new output, not replicating existing content. Seeking $15K per song (approx. 109.4M RMB), the record labels accuse Suno of copying 662 tracks and Udio of 1670, arguing it undermines innovation. Industry group's CEO Mitch Glazier denounces the unauthorized use for profit.
